Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) said Sunday that President-elect Trump is in the strongest position of any of his three terms to run for president in 2024.
In an interview on CNN's “State of the Union,” Fetterman pushed back against suggestions that the Democratic Party is no longer the party of the working class, saying, “Of course it is.” He cited two factors in particular as boosting the Trump campaign.
“Of course, but I explained the situation, and now I've already argued that it's going to be an incredibly close race, and I've also argued that Trump is the strongest of those three cycles. ” Trump said of the election.
Fetterman points to tech billionaire Elon Musk's unique role in Trump's 2024 campaign and the role this summer's assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, contributed to Trump's success in Pennsylvania. did.
“And now something really unique has happened, and that's the assassination attempt that happened in Butler,” Fetterman said. “And then there's Musk. Musk isn't just your typical surrogate mother. … Musk made himself so capable that he allegedly moved to Pennsylvania, but that also helped move the needle on the situation.” I believe.”
“So Trump took the strongest position and took control of Pennsylvania and all of the battleground states,” Fetterman said. “There is no denying that we are here today because of many decisions made before the election.”
