Marshall Manning may still be a few years from making significant moves in his football career, yet his college recruitment is buzzing along. At just 15, he already has offers from prominent programs like Miami and Ohio State, along with Purdue and Missouri State, as reported by 247Sports.
Currently a freshman at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Manning serves as the backup to Keegan Croucher, who is committed to Ole Miss for 2027. Since he belongs to the 2030 recruiting class, there’s still ample time for him to gain experience and consider his options. As he plays in more games, it’s likely he’ll attract even more interest from colleges. By the way, Manning sports number 16, a nod to his dad’s jersey at Tennessee.
Interestingly, he hasn’t landed an offer from the Volunteers yet.
Manning’s family tree is filled with iconic quarterbacks, tracing back to his grandfather Archie, father Peyton, uncle Eli, and cousin Arch, who is currently the starting quarterback at Texas and projected as a top-10 draft pick in 2027.
He saw his first game action in late August, completing his inaugural pass. Baylor’s head coach, Erik Kimrey, expressed a desire to get Manning on the field more often as the season progresses.
“We had it all figured out,” Kimrey remarked after the game, according to USA Today. “My goal is to have Marshall play in every game this year, even if it’s just a couple of plays. Ideally, it will be more, but we really need him ready for next year. We planned his plays, and he executed well.”
This past Friday, with Baylor dominating by 35 points in the third quarter, Manning helped orchestrate his first touchdown drive in high school, completing three out of four passes for a total of 35 yards, according to USA Today.
