Financial chaos? Trump supporters investigate hidden activist groups supposedly funding LA riots

Allies of President Donald Trump are currently investigating possible funding sources for the violent riots that occurred in Los Angeles, California. The inquiry stems from doubts about whether these chaotic protests were a natural reaction from local residents agitated by the administration’s immigration enforcement policies. Rather, concerns have arisen that these events may have been orchestrated and financed by various organizations or entities.

FBI Director Kash Patel noted this week that agents are attempting to trace the financial resources linked to the protests that have erupted nationwide. “It supports and is engaging in criminal activity,” he stated while commenting on the investigation.

In a separate effort, Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) announced on Wednesday that he would launch an inquiry into individuals allegedly bankrolling the riots.

Hawley expressed on social media, “Who is funding these riots? This violence is clearly not spontaneous. As the chair of the Judicial Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, I’m initiating an investigation.” He shared a letter sent to the Los Angeles Coalition for Humanitarian Immigration Rights, which he suspects may be involved in financing what he termed as “lawless mob action.”

In his communication, Hawley claimed, “Reliable reports suggest that your organization provided logistical and financial support to those involved in these disruptive behaviors. Let me be clear: Funding civil unrest does not fall under protected speech. It encourages and participates in criminal activity.”

Hawley requested that the organization furnish the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism with a range of documentation, including internal communications, financial records related to the protests, third-party contracts, grant proposals, travel and accommodation records, public relations strategies, and donor lists.

Supporting Hawley’s allegations, DataRepublican highlighted that Chirla, an organization reportedly linked to the protests, reported revenues of $45 million, with $34 million derived from government grants in the fiscal year ending June 2023. They noted a significant increase in government grants recently.

On another note, the Union for Humane Immigration Rights responded, firmly denying any involvement in associated violence. A representative remarked, “We are not part of the protests in Los Angeles, other than those press conferences and meetings previously referenced; we have not coordinated any protests besides the mentioned rallies.”
