A raging fire gutted the stalls of Bryant Park's iconic holiday market Friday morning, sending huge plumes of black smoke billowing above the Manhattan skyline.
The fire broke out around 9:20 a.m., with a heavy column of flame erupting from a shed set up in a park on West 40th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, according to the FDNY and video from the scene.
Firefighters continued to extinguish the fire after about 30 minutes.
No information on injuries or the cause of the incident has been announced at this time.
The fire occurred about a week and a half after another fire broke out in the festive shopping corridor of Herald Square on Broadway between West 35th Street and West 36th Street.
The fire destroyed 18 stores selling everything from bratwurst to glass ornaments to T-shirts, according to an online fundraiser set up to support the vendors.
