Firefighter Ed claims that something has been amiss lately at MetLife Stadium during a Jets game.
The Jets superfan, whose real name is Ed Anzalone, took to Instagram on Tuesday to claim that his time on the video board at MetLife Stadium has been reduced and fellow Jets fans are taking notice.
“We received a lot of emails and text messages from fans about the Jets experience in the stadium with big screens.” Anzalone started with a video. “Especially last night — the Denver game, too — especially last night.” [the Jets] We scored a touchdown, so it's usually always on the screen as is tradition. ”
Anzalone mentioned how the stadium would show superfans on screens to boost the crowd while the Jets were on defense.
At the time, Firefighter Ed described “something going on” with the stadium's production team and said it seemed like they were showing him less and less.
“I don't know exactly what's going on, but they're phasing us out,” he said. “If anyone knows anything please let me know, it's clear it's happening and we need to stop it because we need home field advantage. That's what we have. Something is going on and if you know anything please let me know.”
The Jets did not immediately respond to The Post's request for comment.
Anzalone has been one of the most prominent Jets fans over the years, wearing the Jets' trademark firefighter hat while leading the famous “JETS” chant during home games at MetLife Stadium.
He first appeared on the video board in 1986 at the team's previous home, Giants Stadium, and was a regular there until 2012, when he relinquished his fandom during the infamous Butt Fumble game on Thanksgiving night. .

Anzalone returned to his Firefighter Ed persona in 2015 and has remained that way ever since.
He occupies a very large place in the Jets fandom. He was made to appear on “The Pat McAfee Show” Last week, Robert Saleh reacted to the news that he was fired as Jets coach.
