Podcasting mogul Joe Rogan has warned his millions of listeners that free speech will be at risk if Kamala Harris and Tim Walz win the November 2024 election.
Rogan told fans that Harris and Walz's “wild remarks” about free speech are a violation of the First Amendment because Democratic officials tend to support censorship and launch taxpayer-funded censorship programs. He said he was concerned that this did not bode well for the Articles. The U.S. Constitution guarantees freedom of political speech; mediaite he pointed out.
“I don't think things are going to get any better with Kamala Harris in office. I think they're going to crack down more,” Rogan said, citing X and Rumble as the only social media platforms where free speech can flourish. .
Rogan specifically pointed to Harris' argument that Elon Musk should “lose his privileges” if he doesn't follow censorship policies.
“She openly discussed the need for the same rules to apply to Facebook and Twitter, and the possibility that Elon Musk would lose his privileges. There are a lot of things they're saying that are very outlandish.” Logan told listeners.
After the episode, X chief Elon Musk said Logan's claims were “absolutely correct.”
Rogan also criticized Walz for his rant, saying, “There is no guarantee of free speech when it comes to misinformation and hate speech.”
“Tim Walz said the First Amendment doesn't apply to misinformation or hate speech. Well, that's true. It does,” the comedian explained on the podcast. “Sometimes people say the wrong thing, but the purpose of the First Amendment is that you say the wrong thing and this person who is an expert says the right thing and you correct him. .”
The Biden-Harris administration is already threatening free speech. Indeed, in February, attorneys general from 20 states joined together to warn that Joe Biden's efforts to censor “disinformation” were a direct threat to free speech.
