First Lady Criticizes Jimmy Kimmel's Joke about Trump's Assassination

Melania Trump Critiques Jimmy Kimmel’s Remarks

First Lady Melania Trump took aim at late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel after he made a joke suggesting she had a “pregnant widow glow” during a segment parodying the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Kimmel’s comments came during his Thursday show, prompting Melania to respond by stating that ABC should “take a stand” against such humor. She labeled Kimmel’s words as “hateful and violent,” expressing her concern over the divisive nature of his rhetoric. In her post on X, she stated, “Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is aimed at dividing this country. His monologue about my family is not comedy. His words are corrosive and deepen the political ills in America.” She added that people like Kimmel shouldn’t be allowed into homes to spread hatred.

Continuing her criticism, the First Lady called Kimmel a coward for hiding behind ABC and urged the network to reconsider its support for him. “How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocities at the expense of our community?” she questioned.

Kimmel had also taken jabs at President Donald Trump and his marriage during the same event. In his words, he pointed out the First Lady’s beauty while making the comment about the “pregnant widow.” Just two days later, an assassination attempt occurred at the Washington Hilton where the Correspondents’ Dinner was taking place. The suspect, identified as Cole Allen, 31, has been taken into custody, and charges have been filed against him, including assault on a federal officer.
