During the campaign, First Lady Jill Biden has defended her husband’s advanced age, telling voters that President Joe Biden is a “healthy and intelligent 81-year-old” and that “age is a gift.”
“This isn’t just about stopping extremism, and this election is certainly not about age,” Dr. Jill Biden said Thursday at an event in Green Bay, Wisconsin, according to CNN. report“Joe and that guy are essentially the same age. Don’t be fooled. But this election is about the character of the man who leads our country.”
The First Lady is visiting Wisconsin, Minnesota, California, Nevada and Arizona as part of her “Seniors for Biden” campaign, which targets voters aged 65 and over.
“Joe Biden is a healthy and wise 81-year-old who is ready and willing to work for you every day to make our future better,” she said. “Joe is one of the most effective presidents we’ve had in our lifetimes, not in spite of his age, but because of it.”
Joe Biden’s mental health has come under scrutiny recently after he was seen appearing confused, looking in the wrong direction and wandering around in public.

Everyone’s going crazy over the footage of Biden at the G7.
I found the full video, and the longer clip is even more terrifying in context. pic.twitter.com/obFINP7RNE

🚨 Why won’t Biden take a cognitive test?
Here he was literally lost trying to find his way off stage for over 30 seconds.
He clearly has no idea where he is. pic.twitter.com/Er079OIM88

In Green Bay, Jill Biden asserted that “I am wiser, stronger, more insightful and more confident today than I was years ago.”
“The lines on my face are the result of frowns from difficult decisions, the paths countless journeys taken, and the sweet lines from laughs shared with people we love. Age is a gift,” she continued.
She repeatedly criticized former President Donald Trump during her speech, claiming the Republican is “a danger to our lives, our safety and the future of our country.”
In her next stop, Duluth, Minnesota, the first lady told an audience of seniors, “We are not defined by our numbers.”
“And when people underestimate us, it’s at their own risk,” Jill said of older adults. “Let’s show them what they can do at this age.”
Rep. Doug Emhoff also spoke at an event he hosted in Exeter, New Hampshire on Friday morning, working to get older voters to the polls.
