New Film on Melania Trump Set for Release
Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first official images and announced the title of a feature film that offers a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on Melania Trump, the First Lady. Directed by Brett Ratner, known for the Rush Hour series, the film is set to hit theaters worldwide on January 30, 2026, which aligns with the first anniversary of the president’s inauguration in 2025.
In a statement regarding the film, Melania expressed her excitement, noting that “few people get to see the world from the viewpoint of the future First Lady, particularly in the crucial 20 days leading up to Inauguration Day.” She mentioned that the film promises viewers unique insights into her family, businesses, meetings, and philanthropic endeavors.
“My time preparing for this role has been remarkable. As First Lady, I’ve paid close attention to every detail. Alongside this, I am also managing our family’s move to Washington, D.C., my business responsibilities, and my philanthropic work with ‘Fostering the Future,'” she added. The past few weeks have been pivotal, filled with decision-making that shapes leadership and purpose.
After its theatrical debut, the film will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The narrative is shaped by conversations between Melania and her senior adviser, Mark Beckman.
Beckman shared that he is proud to present a piece of history, particularly for Melania. He conveyed that as she detailed her creative vision, they realized the significance of telling this unique, historic story. He remarked on Amazon’s strong partnership throughout the process, from negotiations to production and now to the film’s upcoming release.
Both President Donald Trump and their son Barron are expected to make brief appearances in the film. Additionally, efforts are underway to finalize a three-part documentary that will provide a distinctive viewing experience about Melania’s life prior to her time in office.
This feature film and accompanying documentary series follow the success of Melania’s first book, which reached the No. 1 spot on the New York Times bestseller list.
Beckman also recounted the competitive bidding process for the project. Some bidders were interested solely in the film, while others focused on the series. Amazon’s offer encompassed both, as well as the option for a theatrical release—which was precisely what they sought.
Moreover, it’s notable that this project comes on the heels of Hollywood largely overlooking Melania during her husband’s time in office.
