Fontana, California – New information has come to light regarding a disturbing double homicide that occurred over the weekend outside a sushi restaurant in San Bernardino County.
The incident took place on June 22nd, around 9:30 PM, in the parking lot of a strip mall on Summit Avenue in Fontana.
Gloria Zamora, a 40-year-old fitness influencer and mother of seven, was out on a date with her 43-year-old boyfriend, Hector Garduno, when they were tragically shot by her ex-husband, 45-year-old Thomas Albert Tamayo Lizaraga, and Fontana police.
According to investigators, Lizaraga initially aimed at Zamora’s boyfriend before turning the gun on her.
After hearing the gunshots, an unidentified aide from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department rushed to the scene, only to find that Lizaraga had fled. The aide subsequently confronted and fatally shot him.
Zamora and Garduno were taken to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
This violent act occurred just weeks after Zamora mentioned her intention to leave her husband on a podcast.
A GoFundMe campaign organized by her daughter, Jazzlyn Zamora, described her mother as an inspiration for other women and noted the profound loss felt by their family. “My mother was taken from us for no reason,” Jazzlyn wrote. “She has left seven beautiful children, aged 8 to 24, facing a future without her love and guidance.”
Another GoFundMe campaign was set up for Hector Garduno by Yesenia Garduno, characterizing him as a devoted father who worked hard for his family. “His death left a hole in our hearts,” she expressed.
Authorities confirmed that the firearm believed to have been used by Lizaraga was recovered at the scene and secured as evidence.
