Fix New York Transit or Risk Losing Funding: The Cost-Effectiveness Crisis!

During an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy remarked, “We must allocate funds to the MTA and effectively utilize our resources to identify and eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse, thereby enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness in these projects.” He emphasized that the stance of the transportation department is clear: “If you don’t rectify your practices, we will not consider investments in you.”

Duffy added, “[T]he mayor demonstrated some advancement. I possess additional data that they do not. Nevertheless, the mayor has deployed more law enforcement personnel within the subway system. This, however, is truly an error on the part of the New York governor, correct? She is eager to invest further in the MTA, New York’s transit system. Yet, there is no accountability regarding their expenditure, the amount dedicated to security, or ensuring a pleasant and safe environment. The presence of homeless individuals and erratic behavior in the subway is intolerable.”
