Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel once joked that Sean “Diddy” Combs would be a better leader than former President Trump in a video recently discovered on social media.
During an Aug. 1, 2018 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel asked the now-disgraced music mogul if he would consider running for president.
“By the way, President Trump had his own vodka, but it wasn't as successful as yours. Maybe you could become president. Have you ever thought about that?” he asked.
“He wouldn't be a good president,” Combs told Kimmel.

“I wouldn't pass any of the things that needed to be passed, but it looks like Trump did just that,” he said jokingly, as the audience laughed.
“You're like a Boy Scout compared to that,” Kimmel told Combs.
“Yeah,” Combs jokes back. “No, I love what I do.”
“That wouldn't be any fun, would it?” Kimmel said of running for office.
“I don't think you can take responsibility for an entire country,” Combs responded.
“No, I think pretty much anybody could do a better job at this point,” Kimmel said, referring to then-President Trump.
When asked the same question by Combs, Kimmel joked that no one could “do a better job” as president, but said he'd be “happy” to be Combs' running mate if he did run.
“I say this because you [run]” he joked.

The 2018 video has been circulating again on social media following Combs' arrest Monday following searches of his Los Angeles and Miami homes in connection with a federal human trafficking investigation.
Combs appeared in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to multiple sex offense charges.
He was formally charged with organized criminal conspiracy, coercion, fraud, compulsion to commit sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution, which carry a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
He was ordered held without bail, and his lawyers plan to appeal the bail decision.
“Mr. Combs is a fighter. He's going to fight to the end,” the rapper's lawyer said outside the court after the arraignment. “He's innocent. He came to New York to prove his innocence. He's not afraid. He's not afraid of the charges.”

After breaking the news of Combs' arrest on Tuesday night, Kimmel played footage of Trump hosting “The Celebrity Apprentice” in 2006 and praising the rapper.
“I love Diddy. He's a good friend of mine and a good guy,” Trump told contestant singer Aubrey O'Day. “Is he a good guy?”
“I don't want to answer that question,” O'Day says in the video.
“Well, I think he's a good guy, so I'm going to defend him,” Trump said.
Kimmel joked, “In fairness, he also thinks Kim Jong Un is a good guy, so only the best.”
