Florida GOP House candidate: Tlaib, Omar 'might consider leaving before I get there'

Republican House candidate and Florida Sen. Randy Fine (R) said Tuesday that progressive Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) will leave Congress if elected. He said that this should be considered.

“The Hebrew hammer is coming,” said Fine, a Jew.Said in X's post. “[Rashida Tlaib] and [Ilhan Omar] I might consider leaving before I get there. ”

The fine included the hashtag “drop the bomb.”

The firefighter's comments came amid a repost of the Republican Jewish Coalition's endorsement of Fine in Florida's 6th Congressional District.

Tlaib and Omar, the only Palestinian-American members of Congress, have been vocal supporters of the Palestinian people throughout the Israel-Hamas war following Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Both members are Muslims.

Mr Fine is known for his staunch pro-Israel views and has faced backlash for a series of inflammatory statements about the war. When a Turkish-American activist was killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank earlier this year, Fine Said in X's post: “Throw a rock and you'll get shot. One less Muslim terrorist. Fire away.”

In 2019, Mr. Fine referred to Jewish voters who defended a forum titled “Palestine/Israel, Beginning Dialogue” as “Judenrat,” a term referring to Jews who collaborated with the Nazis during the Holocaust. According to , the comment was made on Facebook.jerusalem postandOrlando Sentinel.

Fine began his candidacy for the state's 6th Congressional District on Tuesday. The seat is currently held by Rep. Mike Walz (R-Fla.), who serves as President-elect Trump's national security adviser.

Trump called on Fine to run for office on Monday.
