A Miami man was arrested by police after he allegedly punched his girlfriend’s 5-year-old son while he was watching “Paw Patrol” because it was “for girls,” according to reports.
Miami police told local station WPLG that Keyun Bryant, 36, was arrested in connection with an incident at a residence the day after Christmas 2022.
A witness told police that Bryant grabbed the boy’s arm “extremely hard” before telling him the show was “for girls,” according to a police report obtained by the station.
The boy told University of Miami Child Protection Team staff during the interview that Bryant grabbed his right arm, “scratched it” and “put his hands around his neck and told him he was going to do it,” according to the report. Take him to jail. ”

The witness reiterated what the child told child protection teams, saying that Bryant “came into the room while she and the victim were watching ‘Paw Patrol,’ grabbed him by the arms and neck, and hit him in the back of the head.” I hit him,” he said. “Because he was in the ‘girl’s room,'” police wrote in the report.

Police said Bryant told detectives he was watching his children while his girlfriend went to work. The suspect also maintained that the charges against him were false, adding that the child’s biological father had “made false allegations” against him on other occasions, WPLG reported.

Police were able to locate Bryant last Tuesday. He was arrested and charged with one felony count of child abuse, according to online records from the Miami-Dade Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
