Florida man allegedly led police on ‘slowest’ chase in history

A Florida man allegedly drove at a slow pace along a highway during a highly unusual pursuit, leading authorities on “one of the slowest pursuits in history.”

Sheriff Rick Staley said Kyle McNally, 33, was driving at a snail's pace, at times up to 3 mph, along State Route 1 in Flagler County. McNally was driving between 15 and 20 mph when he allegedly kicked his passenger out of the car after stopping to change seats. fox orlando Reported.

Authorities said McNally kicked the passenger out of the car and then drove off, hitting another car and leaving the passenger on the side of the road in the rain.

Officials said Flagler County deputies caught up with McNally, but he refused to pull over. Sheriff's video showed the deputy driving slowly as a patrol car followed.

He eventually stopped the car and surrendered. The man was taken to the hospital after receiving “medical complaints,” according to the sheriff's office.

“While at the hospital, he threatened and resisted the deputies, even attempting to bite one of them,” authorities said.

McNally was initially arrested for simple assault, failure to stop in a collision with serious bodily injury, fleeing law enforcement and obstruction without violence. After his actions at the hospital, he was also charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, including assault, aggravated assault, assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting with threats of death or great bodily harm. He was indicted.
