Florida man found not guilty of murder in stabbing pro-Trump friend to death with trowel at a construction because of insanity

The Florida man accused of stabbing Trump's friend at a construction site and accusing him of dying, it turns out to be no murder charge.

In a non-judgment trial in Orange County Court last month, 34-year-old Mason Trevor Tony said he was found not guilty of murder on insanity. WKMG-TV.

“There was something wrong with Mason.”

As Blaze News reported in January 2020, Toney was arrested for the murder of his friend and boss, 28-year-old William Knight.

Citing the arrest warrant, WESH-TV Police officers arrived at the crime scene and reported that they would find the knight's body next to an excavator with an American flag nearby.

Witnesses told investigators that the knight is a “proud and outspoken American” and a “ProDonald Trump.”

Tony was reportedly described as having anti-government sentiment by eyewitnesses, believing that “the government is bad enough to get him.”

According to court documents, witnesses said when debates over politics broke out, including Knight's support for President Donald Trump, Knight picked up Tony to drive him to another construction site.

This argument is said to have escalated to a physical conflict. Witnesses are said to have tried to stop the attack and throw things at Tony.

Tony is accused of stabbing a knight with a trowel of structure to death. Tony reportedly jumped into the truck and drove the witnesses, calling them “terrorists.”

Knight was injured at the crime scene on January 20, 2020.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said Tony was arrested in Brevard County the same day in a truck and charged with murder.

Williams Knight Sr. – the father of the victim – said WKMG-TV In 2020, “Mason's gentleman, he has been a family friend for years.”

The father said his son had recently been promoted to construction site foreman before his death, and he hired Mason. The deeply distraught mother said that he had been acting strangely and warned his son not to hire his childhood friend.

The victim's mother, Julia Knight, spoke about the possible motives for her son's death.

“But I can tell you now, not about politics.”

“There was something wrong with Mason,” she said.

The review hearing is scheduled for August 11th.
