Florida man killed in crash after stealing good Samaritan’s car

A Florida man stole the car of a good Samaritan who had stopped to check on him after wrecking his car, but died in the accident moments later.

The Dade City man started his Chevrolet westbound on State Route 50 and lost control after just three miles.

According to the Highway Patrol, the man crossed the median into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the tractor-trailer.

He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and “suffered fatal injuries,” authorities said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 45-year-old Plant City resident, sustained minor injuries.

The identity of the carjacker has not been revealed.
