A Florida man was arrested after allegedly throwing beer at a car that appeared to be speeding in his neighborhood and then firing an AR-15 rifle at him, authorities said.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd posted a video on social media in which defendant Eric Proctor tells investigators that he threw a beer can at a car because the driver was speeding in his neighborhood, and then drove away for speeding. He stated that he had confronted the police.

Proctor grabbed an AR-15 and planned to go back and shoot, Judd said.

“He went to his home, came out with a rifle, and the guy fired three shots,” Judd said. “Once in the air, twice on the ground.”

Deputies said Mr. Proctor denies the charges, but Mr. Judd revealed video footage from a neighbor that showed a man believed to be Mr. Proctor in the act.

Mr. Proctor is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault and is being held in the county jail.

“If you're that upset, give me a call,” Judd said. “We'll deal with it, and you won't be sent to prison for a felony.”
