A Florida man is in critical condition after walking nearly a mile to a friend's house with a bullet wound in his head after he was shot during a fight that escalated, according to the Holly Hill Police Department.
The Holly Hill Police Department said in a news release that a preliminary investigation revealed that Christopher Hastings, 33, and a 44-year-old man got into an argument at a mutual friend's house in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 17. .
Police said the two men were fighting over a woman, and the fight escalated when Hastings pulled out a gun.
Police said the fight moved outside and Hastings shot the man in the head.

The victim had a friend who lived nearby, about a mile away from the crime scene, and after he was shot in the head, he walked to his friend's house and called police, according to a press release.
Officers positively identified Hastings and arrested him and the firearm believed to have been used in the incident within eight minutes of the initial call.

Hastings was arrested, charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
