A Florida man spends the next 18 years behind the bar as he rapes a 13-year-old girl his family was staying with, then forces her to take Plan B, an emergency contraceptive.
Robert McGuire Jr., 34, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery last week to someone between the ages of 12 and 18. According to a statement from the prosecutor. The judge sentenced him to 18.5 years with the Florida Department of Corrections.
McGuire must also register as a sex offender and complete 10 years of sex offender probation.
“The cruel actions and intentions behind this defendant's crime are repulsive,” said Walter Forty, Florida's top aide.
“Even though they were victimized and threatened, this brave young victim spoke and sought help. I guarantee that McGuire will ultimately take responsibility.”
According to the News & Observers, two rapes occurred on a row in October 2021, when McGuire was staying with family friends.
McGuire lived in a spare room in the family home for about six months, according to an arrest affidavit from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
The victim spoke to a trusted adult about the attack. Authorities then spoke to a girl who said she was sexually assaulted by McGuire.
The girl said that if McGuire told anyone about rape he would kill her. The snake also forced her to take Plan B, also known as the morning pills.
The officers managed to match the crime scene DNA that linked McGuire to sexual assault.
Surveillance video from CVS also shows that McGuire will purchase the Plan B pill, according to prosecutors.
McGuire had previously denied any claims against him.
