Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna responded to years-old footage that resurfaced Wednesday of pro-Trump lawmakers dancing in MAGA-themed swimsuits.
The 35-year-old politician previously wore the suit in a video showing his support for Donald Trump in 2016, before he was sworn in as a member of Congress early last year.
In a series of tweets, Luna capitalized on the social media furor, placing the blame for the unearthed images on liberals.
“I have worn a swimsuit and I identify as a woman biologically.” She blamed X. Use the hashtag “MAGA”
The Republican also noted that before he started attacking Democrats, he designed swimwear and women’s shirts and was featured in Sports Illustrated and Maxim magazines.
“Since Democrats on TikTok are coming after me, I’ll make a confession: When I go to the beach, I wear a bikini and I use mineral sunscreen.” She wrote.
“There are better ways to spend your time than digging up photos from your modeling days from nearly a decade ago,” she wrote. Follow up post.
“The left is trying to make this an issue, but it doesn’t define women. It’s very low IQ behavior. We need to get over it.”
The Republican congressman, a former Air Force officer, is a strong supporter of Trump (78), who is running for the White House against Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris (59).
