Florida Rep Cory Mills obtains a restraining order related to Miss USA Lindsey Langston sextortion case

A judge in Florida has issued a restraining order against Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.), responding to claims from his ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Langston, who is currently Miss United States. She alleges that Mills harassed her and threatened to distribute explicit videos.

This ruling, made by State Circuit Judge Fred Koberlein Jr. in Columbia County, restricts Mills from engaging in any violent actions towards Langston, as well as from contacting or even mentioning her on social media until January 2026.

The order noted that the judge found Langston’s assertions credible, citing significant emotional distress caused by Mills and no substantial counterarguments presented.

Koberlein also indicated that there were justifiable concerns that Langston could face further acts of dating violence if no measures were taken.

The ruling reflected on the facts of the situation, stating, “The testimony regarding the intimate video must be true,” according to Koberlein.

He further mentioned that even if Mills’ account was valid, it didn’t matter since there was no evidence to back it up. Langston had expressed awareness that Mills no longer retained the intimate videos in question.

This restraining order came after a couple of court hearings wherein both parties discussed their past relationship and the volume of communications exchanged between them.

In July, Langston discovered that Mills, aged 45, was involved with someone else after they had ended their relationship earlier in the year. She claimed in a police report that Mills had leaked explicit videos and images of her, and allegedly threatened to “harm any man” she chose to date.

Mills reportedly sent a series of harassing messages to Langston in the months of May and June. In a message sent on May 15, he allegedly warned her to inform future partners about him. There was also a threat to share her explicit video.

According to Koberlein’s ruling, Mills disregarded multiple requests from Langston to cease communication.

Mills and Langston, who serves on the Republican state committee, began dating in November 2021 and were living together in New Smyrna Beach, Florida since May 2024, prior to their split.

Mills is one of 409 members of Congress. In April, he voted in favor of the Take It Down Act, which categorizes the distribution of “revenge porn” or AI-generated intimate images without consent as a criminal offense.
