The notorious serial killer, known for claiming the lives of 70 victims and linked to the murders of O.J. Simpson’s ex-wife and her friend, is set to be executed in Florida on Thursday.
Glen Rogers, who is 62 years old and infamously referred to as the “Casanova Killer,” is scheduled for a lethal injection at a prison near Stark at 6 p.m.
This inmate, who has also been sentenced to death in California for the murder of another woman just weeks before the infamous Florida killings, has been known for years due to his alleged admissions to law enforcement about taking numerous lives.
Despite being implicated in several murders, he hasn’t been convicted for any beyond those that established his current death sentences.
Interestingly, he once claimed he had killed around 70 people.
Over the years, Rogers has been the focus of many documentaries exploring his connections, including crime profiles featuring his brothers, which gave rise to the term “brother serial killer” back in 2012.
These documentaries sparked discussions about whether Rogers was behind the stabbings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1994, although Los Angeles authorities later concluded he wasn’t connected to those crimes. Simpson was charged but ultimately acquitted in a highly publicized trial.
“I know who killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. There’s no reason to believe Rogers is involved,” stated the LAPD at the time.
Originally from Hamilton, Ohio, Rogers has been dubbed the “Casanova Killer” and the “Cross-Country Killer” in various news articles throughout the years.
Many of his suspected victims shared similar characteristics, often being petite, with red hair, and in their 30s.
One of his confirmed victims, a woman named Cribs, was found murdered two days after leaving a bar in November 1995, stabbed in a hotel bathroom.
Shortly after, he was involved in the murder of Sandra Gallagher, a mother of three whom he met at a bar in California weeks earlier.
Rogers was apprehended in Kentucky while driving Cribs’s car following her murder.
His legal team has pursued multiple appeals in both state and federal courts to stop his execution.
The U.S. Supreme Court rejected his final appeal on Wednesday.
If everything proceeds as planned, Rogers will become the fifth inmate executed in Florida this year.
