TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Seth Hennigan threw for 272 yards and two touchdown passes as Memphis beat Florida State 20-12 on Saturday, marking his 40th consecutive game in which he has thrown a touchdown pass.
Hennigan completed touchdown passes to Greg Desrosiers Jr. and Anthony Landofer, and Memphis (3-0) took a 20-3 lead into the third quarter.
The Tigers scored touchdowns on drives of 65 and 75 yards and were 7 of 17 on third down and 2 of 3 on fourth down for the game.
Memphis also received $1.3 million in guaranteed money in addition to the career-building win on the road against a Power 4 team.
DJ Uiagalelei completed 16 of 30 passes for 201 yards and one interception, but the Seminoles (0-3) struggled to get going until they had two scoring drives in the third quarter. But by that point, it was too little, too late.
Florida State advanced to the Memphis 39-yard line and scored on the final play with a spike with two seconds left.
But Uiagalelei's Hail Mary was smashed down on the goal line by Memphis' Julian Burnett.
Ryan Fitzgerald kicked a 54-yard field goal for the Seminoles, his third kick of 50+ yards in three games.
