A Florida teacher has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a student in her classroom and in her car in the parking lot of her grandmother’s apartment.
Lauren King, 32, was arrested March 7 after the Fort Myers Police Department received a report that she was having a sexual relationship with a student. King was charged with two counts of lewdness or indecency.
Mr. King previously worked at the Royal Palm Exceptional Center in Fort Myers, Florida. The school educates approximately 150 students from preschool to 12th grade.
According to Lee County Clerk of Court documents, King had contact with a 12-year-old student outside of school over several months.
Since January 28, the two have sent each other about 4,000 text messages. Police said in an affidavit that the messages included nude selfies and videos of sex acts performed on himself.
King allegedly invited the minor to meet him in the parking lot of his grandmother’s apartment.

The boy wanted to suspend his relationship with the teacher because he “felt like he had done something wrong and felt uncomfortable throughout the entire ordeal,” the document said.
After the minor stopped texting King, she allegedly told him she “loved him.”
Court documents state that “Dr. King then [the victim] Jealous, she told him she was having sex with another student. ”
The teacher’s sex scandal came to light when the boy’s mentor investigated why his phone was ringing so often.
The leader allegedly took the minor to church and then to Waffle House.
After seeing multiple calls coming in, the leader asked the boy who had repeatedly called.
The boy reportedly replied, “I’m a teacher.”
The boy reportedly confessed to his homeroom teacher that he had had sex with the teacher.
According to court documents, the mentor answered the boy’s phone call and told King, “Leave me alone. I know everything you do.”
King allegedly confessed to his mentor that he had sex with a minor and promised to “quit and leave the area” within a week.
When the boy’s mother spoke to her son, she said that her son had had a sexual relationship with the teacher and that he “began to become mentally distraught” afterward.
The Lee County School District said in a statement that “this type of behavior is unacceptable” and that King was “immediately removed from the school” after the allegations came to light.
Lawyer for the victim’s family said: “This predator was targeting our client, and it was only his vigilant parents who stopped her. We are responsible for allowing our children to be close to…and must acknowledge our grave failure to keep us safe.” Student. “
King’s bond was set at $350,000.
