Florida teacher Christian Schneider confesses to having had years of 'inappropriate' discussions with a student, according to deputies.

A middle school teacher in Florida has been taken into custody after reportedly confessing to engaging in inappropriate conversations with a former teenage student since earlier this year.

Christian Schneider, 31, was arrested on Friday facing three felony counts following an investigation led by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The inquiry into Schneider began on July 28, where officials discovered that he had been sending inappropriate messages to a former student from Franklin Middle School, according to the sheriff’s office.

Schneider reportedly admitted to lawmakers that he had been having these inappropriate interactions with students since 2023.

Details about the student’s precise age, how authorities became aware of the messages, or the specific content of those communications have not been disclosed.

According to booking records, Schneider is facing two counts of aiding or possessing child sexual abuse material, both classified as second-degree felonies.

Additionally, he has been charged with a third-degree felony for the unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

The booking records note that the offenses occurred on July 3.

Schneider was arrested shortly after noon on Friday and processed later that day, as documented in jail records.

Each of the charges carries a bond of $2,500, amounting to a total of $7,500. Schneider was released on bond around 2:38 a.m. local time on Saturday.

“Teachers hold a position of trust that comes with significant responsibilities,” stated Sheriff Chad Chronister.

“When that trust is violated, it’s not merely a crime; it undermines the foundational principles of education. Detectives will relentlessly pursue these cases, ensuring that anyone who misuses their authority with children is held accountable.”

The sheriff’s office confirmed Schneider’s affiliation with Memorial Middle School and clarified that the teen was a past student of Franklin Middle School.

Further details concerning Schneider’s connection to Franklin Middle School, including when he taught there, have not been provided.

The investigation remains active, and authorities plan to release more information as it becomes available.

Fox News Digital has attempted to contact the Hillsborough County School District regarding Schneider’s employment status and for comments about the arrest.
