The ruins of British tourists that disappeared two and a half years ago were found in privately wooded areas in Georgia, the FBI said.
Alex Hodgson Doughty, 32, was reported missing in September 2022 and was visiting Jacksonville, Florida, about 35 miles where the body was found in Kingsland, Georgia, the FBI's Jacksonville Field Office said. With release.
The Jacksonville-based FBI evidence response team led the search when the bodies were found on February 4th, the department said. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation's examination room said the body was confirmed as Doughty.

An FBI spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the agency had no doubts about foul play and the fees were not predicted.
The agency said they used geo-coordination data from Doughty's mobile phone, but it remains unclear why authorities will take two years to identify his body.

“We wanted to bring better news for Mr Dauty's family, but we are grateful to be able to provide them with some closure,” the special agent for Kristan Lehler, who is in charge, said in a statement. “This finding was a direct result of the FBI Jacksonville Cellular Analytical Research Team (CAST) partnership and special agents, and was obsessed with efforts to narrow down potential search locations.”

According to a report of missing persons, Doughty was last seen at Bay Street Bar and Grill in Jacksonville around 3:30pm on September 11, 2022. He was taken down by taxi to Kingsland an hour later.
His mother, Pamela Hodgson, wrote on her Facebook page in January 2023: “Alex has been missing for four months. Please help us find him. There is still uncertainty about Alex's loss for, but it is believed he stopped on this journey in Fernandina, Florida.”

She added that “my son had not had any contact with his friends or family” since arriving in Florida, and that they were “very worried about him.”
