Florida woman, 44, uses ‘botox’ to explain age after using mother’s age in fraudulent hurricane aid: police

A 44-year-old Florida woman applied to be a hurricane relief worker using her status as a mother, allegedly telling city officials that Botox made her look younger.

Veronica Torres was charged with filing a false welfare claim, a third-degree felony, after applying for and receiving nearly $8,000, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Police say the 44-year-old woman attempted to defraud public officials by applying for disaster relief using her mother's name, driver's license and Social Security information.

Police said in her application that she was forced to vacate her home due to damage caused by hurricanes Milton and Helen.
