Florida woman accused of posing as 14-year-old, molesting teen boys she met on social media

A Florida woman who allegedly posed as a 14-year-old girl on social media and had sexual relations with multiple teenage boys she met online has been ordered held without bond.

Alyssa Zinger, now 23, was first arrested in November. FOX 13 Tampa Bay report. At the time, the Tampa woman was charged with two felony counts of indecent or lascivious assault and five felony counts of indecent or lascivious sexual abuse, according to a local television station.

Zinger was initially suspected of having a sexual relationship with an underage boy. While investigating the case over the past few months, detectives believe they have discovered four other victims, ages 13 and 14. Ginger allegedly communicated with the boys on Snapchat and TikTok while posing as a homeschooling student.

Online Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office records show Zinger was arrested last week on charges including lewd or lascivious sexual abuse, lewd or lascivious assault, sexual harassment, possession of child pornography and intrastate transmission of child pornography by electronic device. He was arrested again on multiple felony charges.

According to FOX 13, she was released on pretrial release before her April 4 arrest. A judge denied Zinger bail on some of the new charges Monday.

“You don’t really seem to understand the issue here,” the judge, identified by WTSP-TV as Laura Ward, said Monday. “You’re the problem here. Your actions toward the boys are illegal. And it doesn’t matter whether they took the video or you took the video. You’re the only adult.”

Zinger’s attorney said her client struggled with emotional and developmental challenges while in school that were documented in an individualized education plan, also known as an IEP. According to the defense attorney, the suspect also changed schools in high school.

Prosecutors have argued that Zinger’s school records do not show any developmental delays and said the investigation is ongoing.
