Florida woman sicced Rottweiler on girl, who died, prosecutors calling for death penalty for murder

A Florida woman allegedly mauled her boyfriend's 9-year-old daughter with a 103-pound Rottweiler. The ferocious dog attack was deadly. Prosecutors are currently seeking the death penalty for the suspect.

Tishael Elise Martin, 34, was arrested in August in connection with the death of Jamalia Sessions. Martin was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and child neglect, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

“I'm going to kill her.”

The girl was found dead on June 17 in her home in Montverde, about 40 kilometers west of Orlando.

Shortly before 5 a.m., authorities responded to a call about an unresponsive child and found Jamalia naked, with “significant abrasions, small puncture wounds, burns, and possible bite marks covering her entire body. They have bruises and are all in various stages of healing.” Possible cause arrest affidavit.

The girl's injuries are “consistent with physical abuse,” the sheriff's office said.

The girl had “superficial lacerations indicating that she had been pinched with great force, her face was swollen, some of her teeth were broken, blood was flowing from her left ear, there was a piercing wound behind her ear, and she had bruises all over her body.'' ,” the affidavit said.

The document also states that “the coroner noted a number of superficial wounds covering most of her body and advised that they appeared to be caused by torture with fingernails or possibly by being struck with a wire or similar object.” are.

Sheriff's detectives obtained more than 2,800 surveillance videos from inside and outside the home. Six videos from the night of June 15 show a large dog attacking a girl.

“Jamaria Sessions was viciously attacked by the family's pet, a 103-pound male Rottweiler, and Jamaria was on the verge of flameout when Tishael Martin grabbed the dog's leash,” the affidavit said. “He was seen squeezing the dog and could be heard encouraging the dog to bite.” It ended with Jamaria Sessions lying on the floor and Jamaria Sessions trying to get up in the doorway, entering the frame. ”

Authorities said the video shows the dog biting Jamalia's head “on Tishael Martin's orders.”

Martin allegedly ordered the Sessionses, who were “shambling, naked and disheveled,” to stand in the room with their arms raised.

“This prompted Tishael Martin to kick the child in the buttocks, causing the child to fall to the floor,” according to the arrest affidavit. “The child lay motionless, moaning in pain, as Tishael Martin continued to kick her in the lower back and eventually in the abdomen as hard as he could.”

Martin reportedly dragged Sessions across the floor by her hair and continued to order Jamalia to stand up, but the girl was “not physiologically able to comply.”

“The following video clip begins with Tishael Martin saying what can be heard saying, 'I'm getting ready to kill her,'” the affidavit states.

Sheriff's detectives said the girl had been hit with objects, kicked, punched and pinched.

According to law and crimestate attorneys for Florida's Fifth Judicial Circuit have filed a notice of intent to seek the death penalty against Tychelle Martin.

Jamalia's father, Lofan Sessions, 27, was also arrested in August and charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child.

Both Martin and Sessions are being held in the Lake County Jail without bail.
