Boone locked Torres, 42, in a suitcase overnight and left him alone to record a video mocking him.

After a 10-day trial in which Boone claimed she was abused by her boyfriend, a jury found her guilty in just 90 minutes.

The courtroom on Monday was packed with Torres' family members, several of whom spoke before the sentencing about the impact of his death and expressed their grief over his torturous death.

“Sometimes I look out the window and wait for him to come and say, 'Mommy, I love you,'” said his mother, Blanca Torres.

One of Torres Jr.'s daughters, Anna Victoria Torres, detailed the mental health issues she has suffered since her father's death, including chronic depression and anxiety. For the first year, she said, she woke up screaming and “hoped I was having a nightmare, only to wake up and remember that my dad was gone all over again.”

Boone took the stand before sentencing and made a final effort to support his cause. According to reports, she proved to be a difficult client throughout the trial, going through a whopping nine lawyers. Wesh.

During the trial, Boone and his defense team argued that Torres was abusive and that he only killed Torres because he suffered from “abused spouse syndrome,” WESH reported.

“I forgive myself for falling in love with a monster. And no matter how grotesque he became, I still loved him and still hoped and forgave him,” Boone said.

She said Torres Jr. “kicked her, punched her, spat on her, raped her, stabbed her and… [and] suffocated her throughout their relationship.

Despite the accusations against him, she asked for forgiveness for the death of her lover.

“I didn't mean for this to happen. Jorge, please forgive me,” she begged. “Torres family, please forgive me.”
