CNN host Sara Sydner recently wondered what Vice President Kamala Harris needs to do to show people what kind of person she is, given that some people are still confused about her actual policies.
During a recent segment on CNN News Central, Sydnor asked Politico national political reporter Meredith McGraw how Harris could properly introduce herself to voters, noting that ongoing polling shows Americans don't actually know what Harris could offer as a presidential candidate.
“The thing that always comes up in the polls is that people don't really understand what her policies are,” the host told McGraw.
Bernie Sanders says Harris abandoned far-left policies 'to win the election'
CNN host Sara Sydnor spoke to Politico reporter Meredith McGraw this week about voters still not knowing what Vice President Kamala Harris' policies are.
Seidner reported that despite many mainstream media pundits and voters viewing Harris as the winner of Monday night's presidential debate with former President Trump, the debate did not clearly articulate where she stood on issues.
“Merridh, as you look at this race and some of the things that are going on, do you think Kamala Harris needs to do more to explain her policies to the American people?” the host asked McGraw.
A Politico reporter agreed, noting that “one of the big questions” voters continue to have is: Where is the policy?
“What are her policies? How is she trying to differentiate herself from President Biden? Who is Kamala Harris?” the reporter asked, listing various questions Americans have about the Democratic candidate.
The reporter said Trump has the advantage in this area, saying, “A lot of voters know Donald Trump, they know who he is. One of the goals of the Harris campaign is to introduce her to the American people, to help them understand who she is and what her background is.”

“That's what we saw on the debate stage — she talked about her background and tried to help voters understand her positions,” McGraw said, but noted that her performance on the debate stage wasn't enough to help voters understand her actual policies.
“But I think the Harris campaign has to make an effort to be more clear to voters during the campaign about what her policy points are,” she said, adding, “And we know from the campaign that she will be doing more interviews, but we've seen in the last few weeks that she hasn't been doing many.”
Harris has been criticized throughout her campaign for avoiding formal press conferences and in-person interviews since she was nominated to succeed Biden as president.
So far, the Harris-Waltz campaign has given at least 49 interviews since the Harris-Waltz campaign was formed, but only 10 unscripted interviews have been given by any Democratic presidential candidate campaign to date.
McGraw also told Sydnor that between now and November, Harris is “aggressively seeking to expand her outreach to voters who have questions about who she is and what her policies are.”
The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
