Taxi Accident in New York City Injures Two Women
Dramatic footage captured a taxi losing control and crashing onto a sidewalk in New York City, injuring two women before the vehicle collided with a warehouse. The incident unfolded Saturday afternoon on the Lower East Side, where the women were standing nearby, engaged in conversation.
The recording reveals the moment the taxi veers toward them. A loud crash echoes as it hits the building, sending debris flying and knocking over nearby flowers. The impact significantly damaged the storefront, drawing the attention of passersby who rushed to help.
Following the crash, a backseat passenger struggled to open the door due to the debris blocking his exit.
Authorities reported that the 25-year-old driver of the taxi was attempting a right turn when he unexpectedly drove onto the sidewalk, colliding with the two females, aged 24 and 25. Fortunately, they both escaped with their lives.
As for the aftermath, no arrests have been made so far. A witness described a chaotic scene, recalling, “I had no idea what was happening, but when I went outside I saw someone on the ground. There was also someone under the car.” Another victim ended up thrown through an opening, landing in the basement of the warehouse but fortunately not suffering serious injuries.
Emergency crews transported everyone involved to local hospitals, and, thankfully, they are all reported to be in stable condition. Observers indicated significant structural damage to the shopping area, notable especially around the stores affected.
