New Body Camera Video from Coast Guard Seizure

Recently released body camera footage captures the moment the U.S. Coast Guard seized Brian Hooker’s yacht, Soulmate, while it was being transported back to the U.S. from the Bahamas in May.

This video comes following a lengthy investigation into the disappearance of Lynette Hooker, who went missing while vacationing in the Bahamas with her husband in April. She was reported missing on April 4 after being on a boat near Elbow Cay in the Abaco Islands.

The footage from May 9 reveals that the crew transporting the yacht was unaware they were passing through a scene with significant evidence. During interactions with the moving team, a police officer informs them that the boat is being seized. The captain responds with surprise, “Oh…”

Earlier in the video, when asked how many people were on board, the captain hesitates slightly before stating, “Just the two of us is fine.”

Interestingly, Brian Hooker was not on the yacht during the seizure. An officer inquires if they are headed to St. Augustine, to which the captain clarifies they are moving the boat to Fernandina Beach for the owner. When asked if the owner would meet them at the location, he simply replies, “I don’t think so, no.”

This whole situation takes a complicated turn as Brian claims his wife fell from a smaller boat at night and disappeared into the ocean. Lynette’s body has yet to be found.

In the preceding search efforts, the U.S. Coast Guard and various agencies conducted underwater and land searches near Hope Town in the Bahamas, looking for any signs of Lynette.

They even recovered the dinghy from which Lynette was last seen. Investigations will continue to uncover more information.

Lynette’s family friend described her as a caring and supportive individual, saying, “She’s the kind of person who always helps out.” A real community figure, it seems.

Moreover, after being questioned by local authorities, Brian Hooker returned to the United States. It’s been noted that no charges have been placed against him, nor is he suspected of any wrongdoing.
