Dispute Over Unpaid Bills Leads to Trash Dumping Incident
A garbage collection company in California was recently filmed emptying a trash can onto the front yard of a customer, citing non-payment of their bill as the reason.
The owner of Express Rental Dumpster, located in the Bay Area, explained that people moving out of their homes in San Pablo had rented dumpsters from them. However, the credit card used for these transactions encountered issues. “It was declined,” said Martín Perez. “They kept saying things like, ‘Oh, you’ll pay later,’ but that didn’t happen, and they never addressed putting money on the card.” He noted they tried to charge it again, but the situation remained unresolved.
Video captured by a Ring doorbell camera revealed a truck driver speaking to someone off-camera before opening the back of the dump truck. This action caused a pile of trash to fall into the homeowner’s yard. The driver then maneuvered the truck to dump the entire contents right onto the lawn.
In the footage, a man emerges from the house, shouting expletives in Spanish at the truck. According to KTVU, Perez mentioned he was already facing losses due to the delivery and collection of trash cans and would incur additional dumping fees if he collected the trash.
When police arrived, they instructed the driver to remove debris that had spilled onto the sidewalk and into the homeowner’s yard.
A neighbor reported that the homeowner claimed to have already paid for the dumpster service, stating, “She said she paid $700, and then all of a sudden, I saw him get up and dump it all on the ground. I don’t really know what it was.”
Eventually, the trash was reportedly cleared away by cleaning crews and neighbors who helped tidy up the area.
