Cam Skattebo found himself stuck in traffic, just like many others. Prior to the Giants’ 28-20 victory against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, he was seen making his way to the stadium in his lifted Ford truck, caught in the same traffic as the fans around him.
Fans cheered for Skattebo from their cars, yelling, “Go Skattebo,” to which he responded with a friendly hand wave. “Go over them,” someone urged, perhaps trying to lighten the mood.
As he waited, Skattebo was animated, jumping in his seat and shouting at the vehicles ahead, encouraging them with “Let’s go!”
He was also heard insisting, “Let me in. I’m the running back,” a bit insistent, perhaps, but trying to make his way through the congestion.
The exact timing of his arrival is a bit murky; it’s hard to say if he was late, but he did get there around 5:50 p.m., which is about 2.5 hours before the game started. Quite the hustle, right?
To add to the storyline, Skattebo sported Jaxson Dart’s high school jersey upon his arrival.
The Giants’ quarterback attended Corner Canyon High School in Utah, which connects to that jersey moment. Kind of cool, I guess.
Once on the field, Skattebo made an impact right away, scoring the opening touchdown on a well-executed play from the goal line.
After this impressive moment, he attempted his signature backflip but nearly collided with the goalpost. That could have ended badly, don’t you think?
Overall, he finished with 81 yards from 18 carries and added a touchdown. Interestingly, he wasn’t involved in the passing game at all.
Meanwhile, Devin Singletary quietly established himself as a reliable option with six carries for 16 yards, plus four catches for 22 yards and a touchdown. It was a peculiar series of plays, too, as the Giants seemed to run the same play multiple times to score.
