Football coach from prominent Catholic high school arrested in prostitution sting, Georgia police say

The Georgia State Police Prostitution sting operation A prominent Catholic high school football coach and 17 others were arrested.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, assistant coach Larry Bruce Moyer, in his 40s, was arrested after attempting to meet with a woman he believed to be a prostitute at a motel in Chamblee.

“Mr. Moyer has been placed on administrative leave.”

“Unfortunately, in this day and age, the internet is awash with commercial sex websites where people can pay someone to engage in or command sexual acts,” GBI Special Agent Ryan Hilton told WSB-TV.

Moyer works at St. Pius X Catholic High School, also in Chambly.

Hilton said Operation Long Room had identified 15 potential victims of sex trafficking and attempted to offer them support.

“When they arrive in our areas of operation, we direct them to resources, counseling, housing and other services,” he explained.

According to police records, Moyer was charged with a misdemeanor count of soliciting prostitution on Aug. 21 and was released Saturday.

A representative for the Catholic high school said Moyer had been placed on administrative leave.

Experts say parents should be vigilant about what their children are doing on social media and the internet as some predators target them for sexual abuse and prostitution.

Images of other suspects caught in the sting were posted by WSB-TV. News report on YouTube.
