X's Ford Motor Company account inexplicably posted a series of anti-Israel screeds on Monday that may or may not be the result of a hack.
The now-deleted messages, which originated on Monday, not only contain anti-Israel sentiments that are off-brand, but also call for “liberate Palestine” and “look at Gaza,” along with calls to “liberate Palestine” and “look at Gaza.” It was declared a terrorist state.
Social media users did not take the message seriously and quickly assumed that Ford Motor Co.'s X account had been hacked, including U.S. Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.).
“Ford Motor Company must have been hacked by the Free Palestine Movement,” Torres declared on Monday.
Ford did not reveal the exact cause of the incendiary post, but the company suggested: FOX business It said in a statement that it was due to hacking.
“Our X account was temporarily compromised and the previous three posts were not approved or posted by Ford. We are investigating the matter.”
