In that same period, the Employment Change rose by 102,000, well above the previous figure of 67,000, and annual wage growth, excluding bonuses, increased slightly to 3.7% from 3.6%. Rising Euro Volatility Risk Amid ECB Challenges

Analysts at Rabobank have posited that the current political turmoil in France presents a significant policy dilemma for the Eurozone. They describe this situation as a “whispered realpolitik binary,” where the European Central Bank (ECB) must choose between bailing out France at a potential cost to the Euro and facing backlash from Germany, or withholding support, which could destabilize the EU economy politically and in the markets. There’s also the concern whether the ECB could support other Eurozone countries without addressing France’s issues. This underscores the risk of increased volatility across the region, as markets remain sensitive to any developments related to France and the ECB’s potential responses.

In the early Asian trading hours, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) announced it would keep its Loan Prime Rates steady, maintaining both the one-year and five-year LPRs at 3.00% and 3.50% respectively.

Meanwhile, USD/JPY is taking a step back on Tuesday, sliding towards 158.00 after a positive end to the previous week. Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama indicated that no conclusions have been reached on funding for anticipated increases in defense spending, mentioning that the government will explore methods to ensure stable funding while prioritizing fiscal sustainability.

USD/CAD has now declined for four consecutive sessions, trading below 1.4100, reflecting a loss of approximately 0.2%. Recent data from Canada showed a 0.1% increase in the Consumer Price Index for September, which follows a 0.1% decrease in August and falls short of market expectations for a 0.2% rise.

Gold continues to face mild bearish pressure, trading below $4,150 amid rising US yields and challenging market conditions. The precious metal appears to struggle to entice buyers early on Tuesday, especially with escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

On Monday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that Tehran has not fully sealed the Strait of Hormuz and could potentially extend its blockade to the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and the Suez Canal, as reported by Tehran Times.
