Former ’80s rock musician arrested after girlfriend’s body found in California woods

A former rock musician has been arrested and charged with murder in his girlfriend's death after her body was found in a wooded area of ​​a California park.

On Tuesday, Theobald “Theo” Lengyel, 54, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of 61-year-old Alice “Alix” Kamakaokalani Herman.

Capitola police say Lengyel also goes by the name “Milo Stone.” He is a former saxophonist and founding member of the band Mr. Bungle. Go to your local KTVU.

Herman was last seen on December 3 in Santa Cruz, California. She was a member of the competitive canoe paddling organization Outrigger in Santa Cruz. The organization said she was at a practice on Dec. 3, according to a post on its Facebook page.

Herman's family reported her missing on Dec. 12 after not hearing from her for more than a week.

Police immediately named Lengel a person of interest in Herman's disappearance and said he had refused to cooperate with the investigation.

“As the investigation progressed, it became clear that foul play was involved, leading us to identify Theobald Lengyel as the suspect,” Capitola Police Department said in a press release.

Capitola Police say human remains were discovered in a wooded area at Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley. Official identification of the body is still pending DNA verification by the medical examiner's office, police said.

Police have not said how Herman died.

Lengyel was arrested by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office without incident and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.

Lengyel was being held without bail, according to online jail records reviewed by Fox News Digital.

“The diligent efforts of our investigators in conjunction with our law enforcement partners led to the arrest of Theobald Lengyel in connection with the tragic murder of Alice Kamakaokalani,” the Capitola Police Department said in a press release. Ta. “I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this incident.”

According to KTVU, Herman was a neuroscientist with a degree from the California Institute of Technology.
