Former Cuomo Aide Criticizes Ex-Governor
Howard Glaser, once a top aide to former Governor Andrew Cuomo, has made a series of sharp comments on social media about his former boss. He has even connected Cuomo to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Glaser, who was the state’s director of operations during Cuomo’s first term, shared a post pointing out the irony in Cuomo’s criticism of Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, given Cuomo’s own family issues. He referenced, perhaps rather dramatically, Cuomo’s failed relationship with his ex-wife Kerry Kennedy, noting a personal story that raised questions about Cuomo’s treatment of women.
He further highlighted that Cuomo’s name was included in Epstein’s contact list, suggesting, with a hint of sarcasm, that it’s quite convenient for Cuomo to criticize others when his own past is questionable.
Glaser mentioned that Cuomo has denied ever meeting Epstein, which seems to be a consistent point from Cuomo’s camp.
Another layer to this drama involves Glaser’s past. He served Cuomo during his time as the federal secretary of housing and urban development and has recently cited Robert Kennedy Jr., Cuomo’s brother-in-law and now a notable figure in U.S. Health Services, to bolster his claims.
Glaser’s comments have taken on a more personal tone too. He described how Cuomo had once, in a rather alarming fashion, “caroused” following a serious medical incident involving his girlfriend, which might raise eyebrows for many.
Furthermore, Glaser criticized Cuomo’s political approach, noting that his lack of authenticity could cost him in the upcoming election.
With the election drawing near, Glaser has hinted that he has more critical insights about Cuomo that he plans to share. Cuomo is set to run independently under the “Fighting and Delivery Party” label after losing the Democratic primary to Mamdani earlier this year.
Glaser’s recent statements come on the heels of past accusations made by his wife, Karen Hinton, who has claimed Cuomo engaged in inappropriate behavior. Cuomo has denied these allegations as well, highlighting a history of tension between them.
In response to Glaser’s posts, Cuomo’s representatives have framed the criticisms as coming from disillusioned friends seeking personal favors, claiming that Glaser and Hinton have a long history of friendship with the former governor. They suggest that Glaser’s remarks are perhaps a misguided attempt to address personal grievances rather than sound political commentary.
As the race heats up, Cuomo remains one to watch, along with various challengers, including Mayor Eric Adams, who are also running as independents following the Democratic primary. With uncertainty in the air, one can only wonder what more Glaser might have to unleash in the coming weeks.
