Former Air Force general and UFO advisor has been missing for two weeks in Albuquerque

William “Neil” McCasland, a 68-year-old retired U.S. Air Force general, has been missing for almost two weeks now. His wife, Susan McCasland Wilkerson, shared on Facebook that there has been no sign of his whereabouts. She mentioned that numerous authorities, along with friends and neighbors, are actively searching on foot. This includes horseback searchers, a helicopter, a drone, and specially trained search dogs. They’ve also looked through local neighborhoods and checked various wildlife cameras for any clues.

Fox News Digital reached out to her, but she didn’t reply right away. Concerns have been raised, but she doesn’t think his disappearance is linked to any confusion or disorientation.

Before his retirement, McCasland was the director of the Air Force Research Laboratory in Ohio. The base has a history related to UFO monitoring from 1947 to 1969. Susan stated that while he had access to classified information during his career, he hasn’t had any substantial clearance since retiring almost 13 years ago. She suggested it’s unlikely he was taken for any hidden secrets.

Interestingly, he had previously worked with Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge as a consultant on military-related UFO matters. His wife emphasized that this connection should not imply any kind of danger to him.

She expressed frustration regarding the ongoing search efforts. Although there’s no evidence pointing to his location, she humorously speculated, “Perhaps aliens took him.” However, she added that there have been no credible sightings of anything unusual in the area.

Authorities issued a Silver Alert for McCasland, who was last seen on February 27 near his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. McCasland is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, with white hair and blue eyes, and it’s believed he left home on foot. An outdoors enthusiast, he often hikes and bikes in the Northeast Heights and Sandia foothills.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office has stated they found no immediate signs of foul play. They are seeking the public’s help in locating him, particularly from anyone who might have been in the Sandia Mountains around the time he went missing. They believe that someone may have valuable information about his disappearance.

For anyone with information, the sheriff’s office encourages you to contact them, stressing that no detail is too insignificant. They also offered hiking safety tips, reminding the community to prepare adequately when venturing outdoors.
