Jay Cutler Begins DUI Sentence in Tennessee
Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler arrived at the Williamson County Jail in Franklin, Tennessee on Monday to begin a four-day sentence for DUI.
Last month, Cutler entered a guilty plea to one count of driving under the influence. As part of the plea deal, he must forfeit a firearm, which resulted in the dismissal of a weapon possession charge.
He was reportedly arrested last October after colliding with another vehicle. Officers described him as having slurred speech, and he declined to participate in a field sobriety test. Blood was drawn at a local hospital under a warrant following the incident.
During the arrest, authorities discovered both a rifle and a loaded pistol in the center console of his truck.
Initially charged with DUI as well as a few other counts, most charges were cleared through plea bargaining, leaving only the DUI charge intact.
After his sentence, Cutler is required to attend DUI safety classes and will remain on unsupervised probation for a year. Additionally, his driver’s license has been revoked, and he’s facing a $350 fine.
Cuter played with the Denver Broncos before moving to the Bears, where he spent a significant part of his 12-year NFL career. He accumulated over 35,000 passing yards and threw 160 touchdowns. Interestingly, the Bears only made it to the playoffs once while he was at the helm.
Cutler was formerly married to reality TV star Kristin Cavallari, highlighting a life that’s certainly been in the spotlight for a while now.
