The changes the Trump administration is making to the Department of Education has attracted a lot of negative attention from mainstream media and progressives.
But whenever the left stinks about something, it is wise to ask: what is the truth?
To answer that question, Stu Burguiere“Stu Dos America” hosts invite Angela Morabito, a former U.S. Department of Education spokesman, to the show.
She says that what is presented as a political issue is not political at all.

“what [President Trump] In the first few weeks of his administration, he actually stood up for his students and said the status quo is over,” she says.
“It's a threat to many people,” but the truth is what President Trump is doing.[taking] Power and from DC [putting] Through “school choices” and more state and local powers, it is back in the hands of families.
Morabito says 12 states have already enacted school choices, and hopes it will be only a matter of time before all 50 states adopt it.
“School choice is an unstoppable and unstoppable movement. …The overwhelming majority of voters on both sides of the political aisle say that parents should be in the driver's seat when it comes to where their children are educated. I believe it,” she says.
She explained that this demand for school choices really sparked when the pandemic exposed the public education system due to indoctrination and low standards.
“When school was happening at the kitchen table, students were unable to read, write, write, write, write, and write, and hide what many parents realized the horrifying truth,” says Morabito.
Virtual school education only exacerbates the predicament. The huge learning gap from the closure was particularly evident in the blue state, which has kept schools closed for the longest time.
When Congress attempted to solve the problem by creating an elementary and secondary education relief fund that allocated “nearly $190 billion” to correct those learning gaps, much of that money was especially true by the Blue City. “Rope courses, rope courses, and more” athletic score boards, landscaping and gender manager employment. ”
It is clear that the entire system is defective and needs to be demolished. But what does that look like?
“While the federal government plays a role in education, the functions of the Department of Education may be better handled by other institutions,” Morabito said.
For example, “one of the core functions [of the Department of Education] I support federal civil rights laws in education,” she says. “It really may belong to the Department of Justice. Let's get an attorney to be an attorney.”
Federal student aid is also being reconsidered.
“What does federal student aid look like as an independent institution that functions like a bank? It could provide better services to borrowers and taxpayers,” says Morabito.
“One in 8th graders [in America] It is clear that “the level of transparency and accountability at the federal level must increase.”
“There are ways to do that while actually reducing the size of the government,” says Morabito.
However, any necessary changes must be initiated in Congress.
“It takes a council act to dismantle Ed's ministry. It's not just locking the door and throwing away the key. It's a really thoughtful kind of winding of this huge knot we have in DC. It looks like a return,” she says.
But that has to be done.
“We don't need 4,400 bureaucrats who spend $80 billion a year and don't educate one student,” Morabito says.
“If we just put the strength back into the hands of our parents, we can do better in schools. And removing the Ministry of Education in a challenging and orderly manner to all of us is the case for all of us. I think it's a big step towards my goal. I want to see it for the children of America.”
