Former ESPN Reporter Critiques CNN’s Jake Tapper Over Biden Coverage
Ed Welder, a former ESPN NFL reporter, recently called out CNN’s Jake Tapper regarding his new book that discusses President Biden’s apparent decline and the administration’s handling of it.
In a recent post on social media, Welder didn’t hold back his thoughts on Tapper’s book, titled “The Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again.”
He shared his thoughts following a compelling interview between Megyn Kelly and Tapper, where he criticized Tapper’s approach over the years, particularly regarding Biden’s condition. “He traded his credibility as a journalist for access to power, and now I hope he sees the consequences of that,” Welder remarked.
During Kelly’s podcast, she confronted Tapper about his handling of the evidence while Biden was in office, emphasizing key issues that were overlooked.
“We neglected to address his struggles, like climbing the stairs or losing track of his thoughts. It was hard to ignore that he seemed out of touch, even wandering around the White House lawn,” Kelly emphasized.
In response, Tapper admitted, “I can’t deny that I could have been more aware during my coverage. I was focused on significant national conversations, not personal preferences. Still, I strive to reflect on my work with humility and would like to delve more into issues related to age and mental sharpness.”
