Jason Galanis, who previously partnered with Hunter Biden in business, has been identified as the fiancé of Savannah Chrisley, a star from the reality show “Chrisley Knows Best.” Chrisley announced her pregnancy along with her engagement to a man named “Jason,” later confirmed to be Galanis.
The 56-year-old Galanis worked alongside Hunter from 2012 to 2015, as revealed during testimony to the House Oversight Committee in 2024.
Both were equity partners at the Burnham Financial Group, where Hunter held the position of vice chairman. Galanis suggested that Hunter was brought on board due to his valuable connections in Kazakhstan, Russia, and China.
In 2016, it was uncovered that Galanis orchestrated a $60 million fraud involving a scheme to sell fraudulent municipal bonds to the Wakpamni Lake Community of the Oglala Sioux Tribe in South Dakota, as stated in federal court documents. He received a 189-month prison sentence in September 2020.
During his incarceration, Galanis provided some cooperation with Republican investigators probing his connections with Hunter Biden. In virtual testimony, he recounted a 2014 call where then-Vice President Joe Biden spoke to Hunter and the former mayor of Moscow, urging that they “be good to my boy.”
This call came shortly after a transfer of $3.5 million to a company controlled by Hunter and his partner Devon Archer, who later became involved in the tribal bonds deception with Galanis.
Galanis testified that Hunter’s main ambition was to secure “billions, not just millions” for his family. He explained that Hunter’s real value to the business was his name and his connection to Joe Biden, which prompted Galanis to agree to contribute equity ownership without upfront costs in exchange for access to what he called “relationship capital.”
Last year, President Trump commuted Galanis’ sentence; he had been serving a lengthy prison term at a facility in Montgomery, Alabama.
Hunter Biden downplayed his association with Galanis during his own testimony in 2024, stating that he only vaguely remembered meeting him once.
Interestingly, Galanis and Savannah Chrisley’s father, Todd Chrisley, who also received a pardon from Trump, both served time in a federal camp in Pensacola, Florida, in 2023.
It’s worth noting that Galanis was previously known for his investments in adult entertainment technology, earning him the nickname “Porn’s New King.”
