Israel has “reached the end of its patience,” declared former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. He defended the Jewish state's right to protect its people from terrorism and called on the government to end its “shameful” restraints on unprovoked Hezbollah rocket attacks, calling for the situation to be resolved. Hypothetical Cuban attacks on the United States.
In a post that went viral on Monday, the former Israeli prime minister sharply criticized Hezbollah's ongoing attacks on Israel and called for Israel to take a more aggressive approach to protecting its people.
In a statement viewed more than half a million times on social media, he called on the Israeli government to stop using “excessive restraint” in the face of relentless Hezbollah rocket attacks that are terrorizing northern Israel.
Bennett, who previously served as the country's defense minister, highlighted Hezbollah's repeated unprovoked attacks, including firing more than 8,000 rockets into Israel in the past 11 months.
“Israel withdrew from Lebanon 24 years ago. Since then, Hezbollah has repeatedly attacked Israel for no reason,” he explained.
He highlighted the tragic human cost, noting that these attacks have left dozens of Israelis dead, including 12 children killed on a soccer field in July.
“These attacks are unprovoked,” he reiterated, reminding others that while Gaza is on Israel's southern border, Hezbollah is in Lebanon, another Israeli security front, which is “on Israel's northern border.”
Hezbollah terrorism
Bennett spoke candidly about Hezbollah’s influence in Lebanon, likening the terror group to Nazi Germany’s control over its people, making it clear that it is not just a “rogue organization” but a powerful force in the country.
“Hezbollah controls the Lebanese government,” he said, just as the Nazis “were not separate from Germany” during World War II.
He warned that the world should view the conflict as a direct confrontation between Israel and Lebanon, with Hezbollah acting as the aggressor.
“Hezbollah is Lebanon,” he asserted.
The former prime minister also recently Precision Attack It targeted Hezbollah terrorists and responded to criticism from the international community.
Bennett rejected those criticisms, saying the operation specifically targeted individuals with ties to Hezbollah using pagers issued to senior members of the “brutal” terrorist organization.
“I simply cannot understand the criticism coming from people like AOC or the UN Secretary-General,” he said, describing the move instead as a “moral, effective and clever counter-terrorism operation” and criticizing those who question Israel's right to self-defense.
Israel's right to self-defense
Bennett's message highlighted Israel's difficult position as it strives to protect its people while facing unfair criticism on the international stage.
“The Israeli government has evacuated approximately 80,000 Israelis from their homes in northern Israel, who have since become refugees in their own country,” he said, calling the precedent “shameful” and “unacceptable.”
He called on critics of Israel to imagine how their own country would react if it were subjected to the same level of violence.
Making the comparison, Bennett questioned how the U.S. government would respond if al-Qaida were to set up a base in Cuba and fire thousands of rockets at Florida, causing the evacuation of Miami.
“Do you now see why I think the Israeli government has 'contained' this for too long?” he asked.
Call for immediate action
For Bennett, the choice is clear: Israel must act swiftly and decisively to protect its people and eliminate the Hezbollah threat.
“The Israeli government has shown great, and in my view excessive, restraint over the past year,” he said.
He called on Hezbollah to withdraw from Israel's northern border and disarm, but warned that Israel reserves the right to take military action if this cannot be achieved diplomatically.
“Israel is tired of Hezbollah and Lebanon terrorizing our people. We want Hezbollah to withdraw from our borders, lay down its weapons and rockets and stop its terrorism,” he said.
“This can be achieved diplomatically and militarily, but it has to be done now,” he concluded. “We are reaching the end of our patience.”
His frustration is shared by many Israelis exhausted by Hezbollah attacks and apparent indifference from the international community.
Bennett, June Claimed After defeating Hamas, Israel must “denazify Gaza,” highlighting the need to address widespread anti-Semitic sentiment among Palestinians, who overwhelmingly support both Hamas and the October 7 massacre it instigated.
The incident comes as Israel is engaged in fierce fighting with Iranian proxy group Hezbollah, which has relentlessly targeted Israeli civilians over the past year.
Meanwhile, Israel is in the midst of efforts to dismantle Hamas in the Gaza Strip following the terrorist group's Oct. 7 attack, the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, which left nearly 1,200 people dead, mostly Israelis. Injured More than 4,800 people were killed and 241 hostages were taken, more than half of whom remain in Gaza. The majority of the victims were civilians. include Dozens of American citizens.
The following day, on October 8, Hezbollah fired guided rockets and artillery shells at Israel in retaliation for the war between Israel and Hamas that began the previous day. Since then, clashes between Israel and Hezbollah have intensified, significantly escalating tensions in the region, with gun battles across the Lebanese-Israeli border causing large-scale displacement and raising fears that a major clash between the Iranian-backed terror group and the Jewish state is imminent.

Hezbollah, a Lebanese Shiite Islamist political party and terrorist organization, has significant influence in Lebanon, effectively shaping the country's political and security environment, and is often recognized as a state within a state. The organization's military capabilities have grown significantly, at times exceeding those of the Lebanese Army. With Iranian support and political backing from Syria, the organization has expanded its activities beyond Lebanon, particularly participating in the Syrian civil war alongside the Assad regime.
Hezbollah, which actively seeks to expand its influence beyond the Middle East, has been designated a terrorist organization by more than a dozen countries and international organizations, including major Western countries, most European Union member states, and most Arab League member states, for its involvement in terrorist activities targeting the United States, France, Israel and other countries.
As a result, it has become a major security concern for Israel and has put it at odds with the U.S. In 1983, Hezbollah bombed the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, killing 241 U.S. soldiers, one of the deadliest attacks against the United States before 9/11.
At a White House event in 2018 marking the 35th anniversary of the attack, then-President Donald Trump said: stated “Other than al Qaeda, no other terrorist group has shed so much American blood.”
On Sunday, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) Criticized He accused the Biden-Harris administration of pressuring Israel more than Hamas, which he said likely “prolonged the fighting.”
Cotton said many Americans may not realize how much Hezbollah has attacked Israel from Lebanon, and he argued that Israel has the right to “defend itself and attack” against these groups.
He also criticized the administration for not providing the necessary political and diplomatic support from the start.
“we [Israel] “It's a way to defeat both Hamas in the south and Hezbollah in the north and to protect our own people.”
