The New York Jets' season is not going according to plan.
The Jets have had four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers under center for all 10 games this season, but have only won three of them. Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury in Week 1, meaning he played less than one full game in 2023.
Star defensive back Sauce Gardner has looked frustrated at times this season. Gardner recently got into an argument with a football fan on social media. The two-time All-Pro ultimately deleted the post.

On a recent episode of “Boomer & Gio,” former Jets quarterback Boomer Esiason talked about Gardner's interactions with football fans. Esiason suggested Gardner's time could be used more wisely, advising the 24-year-old to “put down the damn phone.”
Aaron Rodgers points out Jets' biggest hurdle: 'It's us versus us'
“My advice to Source Gardner is to put the damn phone down. Put it down!” Esiason said. “For the last two years, everyone was talking about how you are the best player at your position. I mean, it's been two years of praising how great you are. All of a sudden, a bad game… There are a few and you end up missing tackles. Are you going to start fighting people when they're chasing you?”
“Stop playing defense and just play ball, dude,” Boomer added. “I wish he would just quit that and just work on golf this offseason.”
Esiason, who won league MVP honors in 1988, also suggested he would take a schoolteacher approach to coaching in the NFL.
“If I were a coach, I'd say, like a teacher at school, 'Hey guys, can you leave your phone on the caddy until the game is over and concentrate?'”
Team owner Woody Johnson decided to part ways with coach Robert Saleh in October after the Jets started 2-3. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has been named interim head coach.
Seven days later, the Jets sent a conditional draft pick to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for Davante Adams. However, this move has not had an overwhelmingly positive impact on the win/loss column. The Jets have lost four of their past five games.
