Former Brooklyn Nets player Darius Morris, who died in May at age 33, died from coronary artery disease, according to TMZ Sports. reportHe cited the Los Angeles County coroner’s report.
As ABC 7 reports, drugs — specifically cocaine, hydrocodone, ethanol and alcohol — are listed as “contributing factors” in the athlete’s death.
A native of Los Angeles, Morris was one of the best high school players in the country before leaving California to play for the University of Michigan Wolverines. He played two seasons in Ann Arbor before entering the NBA draft in 2011. His hometown team, the Lakers, selected him in the second round.

The former Wolverines player played for a few teams before finding his groove with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2014-2015 season.

Morris played in the G League from 2018-2019 and also played internationally with France from 2019-2020.

According to TMZ Sports, Morris’ death has been ruled an accident.
