Former NFL punter arrested for protest against pro-Trump city council

Former NFL punter Chris Cruwe was arrested Tuesday in protest at a city council meeting targeting President Trump's influence in Huntington Beach, California.

Kluwe attended a city council meeting to protest the city's decision to display plaque in public libraries using the terms “magic”, “charming”, “zinc plating” and “adventure.”

All members of the city council are Republicans.

During public comments, former Minnesota Viking punter Kruwe; I directed his comment With seven members. He said it was clear that the council didn't want to listen to him, so he instead went ahead and said “Maga was standing” for the last month of Trump's second term. “Maga is very corrupt, undoubtedly anti-democratic, and most importantly, Maga is explicitly a Nazi movement,” he continues, winning applause from the crowd. “You might have replaced sw with a red hat, but that's what it is.”

Kruwe then said he was involved in the “American tradition of the era” of peaceful civil disobedience.

The punter-turned activist walked towards the council floors and council members, urging law enforcement officials to handcuff them and kick them out of the facility.

Kluwe was in the NFL from 2005 to 2013. He has announced OP-ED, which supports same-sex marriage and claims to have been released from the Vikings after speaking out about the Catholic Church. The NFL team said he was not cut because of personal beliefs.
